Hal Kirkland
Hal Kirkland is an award-winning writer, director, and creative director who wields words, film and technology to tell vivid cinematic stories and create unforgettable experiences.
Starting his career as an advertising creative director for global agencies like BBH New York, 180 Amsterdam, and W+K, he has written and directed films for brands like Google Pixel 9, Instacart, Amazon Alexa, Uber, Blizzard, Starbucks, Amazon Prime Video, Vice News, YouTube, Coca-Cola, and Samsung.
As an experiential director, he has: summoned an unholy a cappella choir of satanic nuns to herald the end of the world (Amazon Prime, Good Omens); immortalized Megan Fox as she read live eulogies for players dying during the launch of Blizzard's Diablo IV; helped Pedro Pascal unravel the mysteries of Merge Mansion; co-designed a touring full-sized paper guillotine that people actually lined up for (Paper Cuts); designed a machine that extinguished a man on fire using sound waves (GE, Unimpossible); enlisted superfans to help John Wick escape from the Continental Hotel before they were eliminated too; and transformed New York's Guggenheim Museum into a memorial for the fallen Autobot army (Artobots Guggenheim) - to name a few.
Hal's work has earned over 80 international awards, including five Webbys, five Gold Clios, 23 Cannes Lions, Best of Show at OneShow, Grand Prix in 10 festivals, Best Music Video at UKMVAs, Annecy, YouTube Awards, among others.
